68/07 MINUTES
RESOLVED:
That the minutes of the meeting held 13th November, 2007 were approved
and duly signed by the Chairman.
69/07 HIGHWAY MAINTENANCE
The following items were reported:-
Brynford Hill - requires sweeping
Lay-by by Dolphin Junction : pot-hole repair and fence repairs
Pentre Halkyn Road to Brynford : road edge requires repair near to Henblas
Pen-Yr-Hwylfa : pot-hole repairs required
70/07 PROPOSED ROAD IMPROVEMENTS - NARROW LANE, CALCOED
Councillor M. Wright reported that following further discussions with
Flintshire County Council regarding match funding the proposed road repair
scheme, the Authority had confirmed that it was unable to provide any
funds towards this. Following lengthy discussions amongst members as to
how best progress the
scheme, it was decided that Councillor M. Wright would write to all residents
advising them of the specification and budget costs of the scheme seeking
their views as to whether they are prepared to support the scheme financially.
71/07 NAID-Y-MARCH / HORSES LEAP PROJECT
Mrs. Rachel Watson, Halkyn Mountain Common Ranger had written to the Council
advising of the progress of the scheme. As part of the project she was
looking into the possibility to provide place name signs for Naid-Y-March.
Rachel further advised that the Highway Authority would require supportive
evidence as to the name of the area being a genuine community place name.
RESOLVED:
That the Clerk would write to the Highway Authority supporting the proposal
for the place name sign.
72/07 REPRESENTATIVE’S REPORTS
*Councillor M. Flynn gave a report on the Halkyn Mountain Joint Consultative
Board meeting that he had attended.
*Councillor T. Stephenson advised that he had attended a meeting of Brynford
School Governing Body at which it was reported that the Head Teacher,
Mrs. A. Harvey would be retiring in August 2008.
73/07 PLANNING APPLICATION
A) PXR/044301Construction of a slurry store. Gelli Fowler
Farm, Lixwm Road, Brynford.
B) APW/044219 Erection of 1 No. conservatory to the front elevation
and 2 No. to the rear elevation. The Wendy House Day Nursery, Brynford.
RESOLVED:
That the Council has no objections.
74/07 APPLICATIONS FOR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE
A) The Good Companions of Holywell Hospital - Provision of a garden area.
B) Sylvia Davies - Rural IT Programme volunteer Kenya.
RESOLVED:
That a grant of £250 was approved for application (A) above.
