58/07 MINUTES
RESOLVED:
That the minutes of the meeting held 9th October, 2007 were approved as
a correct record and duly signed by the Chairman.
59/07 HIGHWAY MAINTENANCE
The following matters were reported:-
*Slip Road from Brynford Hill to Old Chester Road. Pot-hole repairs, removal
of leaves, rubbish and hedge cutting.
*Stamford Farm, Holywell. Stones falling from boundary wall onto highway.
Councillor Wahl reported that this had been reported some 18 months ago
and still no action had been undertaken.
RESOLVED:
That the Clerk will write to the Highways Authority reporting these issues
and forward a copy of the correspondence to the Clerk of Holywell Town
Council.
Brynford Hill
Councillor G. Roberts reported that the ‘SLOW’ road surface
markings had not been reinstated since the road had been resurfaced and
that the ‘Bend’ highway sign had been removed.
RESOLVED:
That the above matter be reported to the Highway Authority
60/07 PROPOSED ROADWAY IMPROVEMENT NARROW LANE, CALCOED
Councillor M. Wright advised members that he had not undertaken any further
consultation with the residents of Narrow Lane, as he had made further
approaches to Flintshire County Council for financial assistance towards
the scheme. Until such time he had received a formal response, it would
be inappropriate to carry out any further consultation at this time.
Councillor G. Roberts requested that a vote of thanks be recorded for
all of Councillor Wright’s efforts and the time that he had put
into this proposed scheme.
61/07 FLINTSHIRE HEALTH SOCIAL CARE AND WELL BEING STRATEGY
- 2008
Members had received copies of the above strategy together with a questionnaire
for completion. The Chairman advised that members should take the opportunity
to complete and return the questionnaire giving their views on the service.
62/07 REPRESENTATIVE’S REPORTS
Councillor Beaumont reported that he and the Chairman had attended the
Remembrance Service at St. Michael’s Church, Brynford at which the
Chairman had duly laid the wreath on behalf of the Council at the cenotaph.
63/07 PLANNING APPLICATIONS
APW/044047
Erection of a single storey extension. Gwynfryd Cottage, Pen-Y-Ball.
RESOLVED:
That the Council has no objections.
64/07 APPLICATIONS FOR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE
A) Cynfaen Memorial Chapel, Calcoed.
B) St. Michael’s Church, Brynford.
RESOLVED:
That a grant of £500 was approved to each of the above applications.
65/07 DRILLT COTTAGE, MILWR ROAD
Councillor Wahl reported that the above property had become very dangerous,
being semi derelict with doors and windows broken. Inside the property
there are a number of discarded gas cylinders.
RESOLVED:
That this matter be reported to Environmental Services, Flintshire County
Council.
66/07 COMMUNITY POLICING
Councillor A. Davies enquired if any members had seen or spoken to the
new Community Beat Manager, PC Scholfield, and if he could be formally
invited
to the next meeting of the Council.
